Argyle: DIY Outdoor Family Strategy Game

Argyle is the backyard game of area control and accuracy.

Best described as a light area control game played in your back yard, Argyle plays from 2-9 players in 2-3 teams. It lasts in about 30 minutes and is suitable for anyone from 6 years to 99.

What Makes Argyle Great?

Argyle adds the element of strategic area control to your typical outdoor game. You have to plan wisely to claim the regions you want, defend the regions you control or steal regions from your opponents. But all that planning is pointless if you can't make the throws! We'd all like to think we could toss a golf ball 10 feet with relative accuracy, but just wait until the pressure is on...

What's that you say? There's a catch up mechanic?

All missed shots are returned to your hand to throw on your next turn. Unlike many outdoor games, if you have a bad round or two of tossing, you still have hope to challenge the leader with a few well placed shots. This keeps everyone in the game until the last moment!

How Do You Play?

With the download you'll get the full rules explaining setup and gameplay, but this video also walks through the basics.

Is it Easy to Make?

Very easy! You can get the supplies for the play area from any local hardware store (which I supply direct links to) and you'll need to get some golf balls, which I have some suggestion on where to get some affordably.
